No. The Heisei GAL Experience is designed for international visitors, and you can book and enjoy your whole makeover without speaking any Japanese. Our team will guide you through every step of your transformation.

Your makeover covers the full Heisei GAL look: dramatic GAL makeup, a statement wig, and a Heisei-inspired outfit with accessories to wear during your session. Absolutely. GAL style is for everyone, and men are very welcome. In Heisei-era Tokyo, the male version of the look even had its own name: gyaru-o. We will create a look that suits you, from makeup and wig to outfit and accessories.

Guests must be at least 16 years old on the day of the session. Guests under 18 need the consent of a parent or legal guardian to book and take part, and must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Yes. We have a range of outfits in different sizes, and we will help you find a look that fits you and feels great. If you have specific size needs, please let us know when you book so we can prepare.

Yes. Many guests love keeping their GAL look for the rest of the day to explore Tokyo, but you are free to take it off after your session. If you would like to remove it before you leave, just ask our team.

We are open from 10:00 to 21:00 (Japan time), and sessions start every hour from 10:00. The last start time depends on your plan: 17:00 for the MAKEOVER PLAN and the MAKEOVER + PHOTOSHOOT PLAN, 16:00 for the DUO PLAN, and 14:00 for the TRIO PLAN and the QUAD PLAN.

Your makeover takes about 90 to 120 minutes for one guest, and longer for groups (about 2 to 3.5 hours for two guests, 3 to 4 hours for three or four). After the shoot, you have free time to explore Tokyo in your look; please be back at the studio by 19:30. If you start later in the afternoon, you come back right after the shoot. The exact time for your plan is shown when you book.

Yes. Our DUO (2 people), TRIO (3 people) and QUAD (4 people) plans are made for booking together. Prices are tax-inclusive totals per booking, not per person. See Plans & Pricing.

Just yourself! We provide the makeup, wigs, outfits and accessories. We recommend arriving with a clean face (no makeup), wearing comfortable clothes that are easy to change out of, and bringing your glasses or contact lenses if you need them. Your phone is welcome for extra photos. Please keep valuables to a minimum.

Please arrive on time at the meeting location; we recommend coming 5 to 10 minutes early so your session can start as planned. The exact meeting location is sent to you after booking.

If you are running late, please contact us. We can wait up to 15 minutes. After that, your session will be shortened accordingly (no refund). If you are more than 30 minutes late without contacting us, the booking is treated as a no-show.

Our studio is in Shinjuku, Tokyo. For guest privacy and smooth operation, the exact meeting location will be provided to confirmed guests after booking.

Yes. Cancelling 8 days or more before your session is free (full refund), and up to 48 hours before your session you may reschedule once free of charge, subject to availability. Fees apply closer to your session. See our Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy for all details.
